Nicole "Cole" Janis

Nicole "Cole" Michelle Janis, age 47, of New Lebanon, Ohio went to be with the Lord on Monday, Nov. 2, 2020 at Ohio State James Cancer Center.

She was born Oct. 30, 1973 in Dayton, Ohio to Tim & Linda (Booher) Blundell. Nicole was a graduate of Dixie High School. She met the love of her life, Brian Janis in 1995. They had a son, Dayton on Mar. 13, 2004 and married on Apr. 22, 2008. Nicole loved spending time with her family and friends. She had a passion for organization, crafting/coloring, and caring for her dog, Prince. Nicole touched many lives with her generosity and nurturing heart. Nicole was a fighter, and fought a courageous battle with cancer for 11 years. In the midst of her fighting, she was always there to be a light. While we always wanted to be strong for her, she was braver for us. She touched and encouraged everyone she met. Nicole will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her mom, Linda; step-mom, Audrey Blundell; father-in-law, William Frederick; and brother, Jeffrey Blundell.

She is survived by her husband, Brian Janis; son, Dayton Janis; father, Timothy Blundell; father-in-law, Ed (Kellye) Janis; mother-in-law, Bonnie Frederick; sisters, Natalie (Stacy) Bargo and Melissa (Anthony) DellAria; sister-in-law, Sarah Janis; brother-in-law, Michael (Mary) Janis; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2020 from 4-6pm at Newcomer Kettering Chapel, 3940 Kettering Blvd, Kettering, OH 45439. The service will follow at 6pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Nicole's memory to the Stefanie Spielman Comprehensive Breast Center.
