Nellie Sullivan, a cherished resident of Dayton, Ohio, passed away peacefully on April 1, 2026. Born on August 31, 1941, in Gray Hawk, Kentucky, Nellie lived a life marked by dedication, warmth, and enduring love.
Nellie was best known professionally as the owner of Vintage Travel, a business she managed with great passion and commitment for many years. Her work as a travel agent touched countless lives, allowing others to explore the world with the care and attention she so thoughtfully provided.
Beyond her career, Nellie found joy in her hobbies and interests, which reflected her compassionate spirit. She adored flowers and was an avid gardener, nurturing vibrant blooms that brought beauty to every corner of her home. Her love extended to animals of all kinds, as she cherished the companionship of many pets throughout her life.
Nellie’s family was the cornerstone of her world. She was the beloved wife of 48 years to Richard Sullivan, with whom she shared a devoted partnership. Together, they raised three children: Cathy (Mike) Palcic, Chris (Misty) McClain, and Jason Sullivan. Nellie's legacy continues through five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, each carrying forward the values and love she instilled. She also leaves behind a wide circle of extended family members and friends who were touched by her kindness and generosity.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Mildred (Tincher) Adkins.
A Funeral Service will be held at 12:00PM on Thursday, April 9, 2026 at Newcomer Funeral Home, Centerville Chapel. Family and friends may visit from 10:00AM until the time of service. Nellie will be laid to rest at Miami Valley Memory Gardens.
Nellie Sullivan’s life was a testament to heartfelt dedication—to her family, her work, and the simple pleasures that enriched her days. She will be deeply missed, remembered fondly, and warmly celebrated by all who knew her.
