Nell Louise Kirk, a beloved member of her family and community, passed away on April 22, 2025, peacefully surrounded by family. Born on June 10, 1937, in Atkinson County, Georgia, Nell spent her formative years in Brunswick, where she graduated from Glynn Academy. During her high school years, she showcased her athletic talents by playing basketball, a testament to her independent and strong-willed personality.
Nell dedicated a significant part of her career to the hospitality industry on Jekyll Island, Georgia, where she was known for her kindness and giving nature. Her work in this vibrant field allowed her to touch the lives of many, leaving a lasting impression on those who had the pleasure of knowing her.
In her personal life, Nell cherished a variety of interests and hobbies. She found joy in oil and acrylic painting, showcasing her creative spirit. An amateur photographer, she delighted in capturing life's fleeting moments. Her love of travel brought her many adventures, particularly a memorable mother-daughter road trip from Georgia to Colorado and back that she treasured. Additionally, she had a deep appreciation for the beach, where countless joyful memories were made.
Nell is survived by her daughter, Patricia (Mark) Crain; her son, Michael Connally; her grandson, Dustin Michael Connally; her granddaughter, Savannah Jordan Godfrey; her sister, Vonice Harrell-Jowers; along with many other extended family members and friends who will remember and celebrate her remarkable life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Hazel Moore; her sister, Linda Moore and daughter-in-law, Dori Connally. Nell leaves behind a legacy of love, independence, and artistic expression that will resonate with all who had the privilege of crossing her path.
