Ned E. Weymouth, a beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully at home on April 18, 2026. Born on September 4, 1935, in Columbus, Ohio, Ned lived a life marked by dedication, warmth, and an engaging spirit that touched all who knew him.
Ned graduated from Fairmont High School, Class of 1953. Early in his life, he worked at the family business, Hausfeld Hardware Store. He then went on to build a distinguished career at Duellman Electric Supply Company, from which he eventually retired. Retirement did not slow Ned's energetic and passionate nature; he channeled his skills and interests into opening the Weymouth Clock Shop in Dayton.
Ned was known for his outgoing, funny, and supportive nature. He was an engaging storyteller who brought joy to those around him. Ned’s entire life he was a passionate collector and restorer of clocks. He was a member of the NAWCC (National Watch and Clock Collectors) Buckey Chapter 23, serving many years as President. He delighted in collecting and repairing clocks and sharing his extensive knowledge with many. Ned also enjoyed being an Boy Scout leader. Along with Virginia they enjoyed antiquing and attending auctions.
Above all, Ned took immense pride in his family. He is survived by his daughter, Ann (Carl Byrd) Weymouth; his son, Alan (Amanda Penix) Weymouth; grandchildren Gillian (Aaron) Herrle, Hillary (Josh) Borges, Madison (Ben) Corr, Sarah Weymouth, and Olivia Weymouth; as well as great-grandchildren Roman and Asher Herrle and Jane Corr. They, along with other family members and friends, remember him as a pillar of support and wisdom.
Ned was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife Virginia, and his son David Weymouth. His legacy is deeply cherished by all who knew him, marked not only by his professional achievements but by the enduring love and pride he held for his children and grandchildren.
Ned’s legacy is one of humor, kindness, and commitment to family and craft. His stories, skill, and spirit will continue to inspire those fortunate enough to have shared in his journey. He will be remembered with great respect and affection.
A celebration of Ned’s life will be held at a later date in the fall. Details will be shared with family and friends when arrangements are finalized.
