Nathaniel Shea Moore, lovingly known to many as Nate, was born on November 22, 1976, in Hamilton, Ohio. He departed this world far too soon on August 15, 2026, in Dayton, Ohio, leaving behind a legacy marked by quiet strength, profound wit, and unwavering devotion to those he held dear.
Nate grew up a miracle, a testament to resilience and the miracle of hope. As a child, he bravely battled and beat cancer; his triumph was not only a personal victory but the shaping force of his enduring spirit. At an age when so many wishes turn to fantasy, Nate's Make A Wish was simple yet telling—while others dreamed of trips to Disney, he longed for a home computer. That early love for technology would light the path of his life, fueling a sense of purpose and discovery that never dimmed.
Nathaniel valued learning, pursuing and achieving his Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science from The University of Cincinnati in 2001. Education was not just a milestone for Nate; it was the beginning of a journey defined by curiosity and innovation. He began his professional life as a systems administrator, lending his expertise and steady hand to remarkable institutions such as Bellbrook City Schools, Antioch College, Wilberforce University, and The Air Force Institute of Technology. Each position was more than a job to Nate—it was an opportunity to solve problems, fix what needed fixing, and leave things better than he found them. In the final chapters of his distinguished career, Nate contributed his talents to Riverside Research, carrying his trademark craftsmanship, tenacity, and ever-present ingenuity.
Friends and family will always remember Nate as witty and laid back, the kind of soul who was easy to be around and who could make even the ordinary joyful with his humor. He was legendary for being just a bit late—perhaps because he was always tinkering, ever the innovator and problem-solver, customizing and improving everything around him. If something broke, Nate could invariably fix it, and if it didn’t fit quite right, he’d find a way to make it better.
Outside of work, Nate’s hands were rarely idle. He found joy in all things mechanical and technical and loved building—his proudest project being the tiny house he constructed for his sons, a physical expression of his boundless care for them. He took pleasure in working on cars, four-wheeling, and was a member of the Honda S2000 Car Club of America. There was little he enjoyed more than a drive in his convertible, the wind in his hair, traveling with those he loved, and sharing in the triumphs and adventures of his boys. Few things brought him greater happiness than attending their school events, cheering them on, and celebrating their journeys.
Yet, of all the accomplishments Nate achieved in his too-short life, none filled him with greater pride than his family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Elizabeth, whose steadfast love brightened every season of his life. He leaves behind his cherished sons, Benjamin Moore and Nicholas Moore, who were always his greatest joy and the truest measure of his heart. Nate’s journey is also remembered by the memory of his late mother, Linda Dean Moore, and his father, Ronal "Pete" Moore, whose love and guidance shaped the man he became.
Family and friends are invited to remember and celebrate Nate at a visitation on August 23, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, Beavercreek, located at 3380 Dayton Xenia Rd, Beavercreek, OH 45432. The funeral service will follow at 12:00 pm at the same location.
