Naomi Hatfield, age 84 of Dayton, reunited with her husband, Charles on May 22, 2019. She was born on July 28, 1934 in Valley Creek, TN to the late William and Martha (Partin) Waldroop. In addition to her husband and parents, Naomi was also reunited with her daughters, Mary Hatfield and Michelle Hatfield; 4 siblings and many other loved ones.
She is survived by her children, Earl Hatfield, Charles (Darlene) Hatfield, Wonda Hatfield, Ronney (Jackie Baird) Hatfield, Dewey Hatfield and Paul Hatfield; 18 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and 4 great great-grandchildren; brothers, Edward (Jackie) Waldroop, Donnie Waldroop and Lonnie Waldroop; sisters, Reba Lawson and Shirley England; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and dear friends.
Naomi was a long time member of Harmony Missionary Baptist Church in Dayton, OH. She loved serving her Lord and found peace in the knowledge that Heaven would be her Home. Her passion was spending time with her large family and their friends. Her door was open to anyone and her first questions were always, Are you hungry or have you ate yet?? Naomi enjoyed trips to garage sales where she found "treasures" to bring home where Charles had a saying of "if his head was flat, she would set something on it"!
She was such a gentle, kind, loving spirit that tried and did find the good in everyone. She was like a mother to several of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. When they were growing up, Grandma's house was the place to be and some would have left their parents, to go live with grandma and grandpa.
Family will receive friends from 4-6 PM on Sunday, May 26 at Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Rd. A funeral service will begin at 10 AM on Tuesday, May 28 at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery.
