Nancy Leone Staight, born on June 13, 1943, in Jackson, Michigan, left this world peacefully on November 29, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. A devoted homemaker, Nancy dedicated her life to nurturing her family and engaging actively in her community through volunteer work for the police station in Payson, Arizona.
Known affectionately as "Gigi" to all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Nancy created countless cherished memories that will be treasured by her family. The neighborhood children also lovingly called her Gigi, a testament to the warmth and kindness she exuded. Her personality was marked by being easy to talk to, funny, flamboyant, outgoing, and entertaining, garnering her many friends and admirers throughout her life. She had a unique way of being straight forward, which endeared her to all who met her.
Nancy graduated from Aurora High School in Jackson, Michigan, laying the foundation for a life filled with love, passion, and connection. She had a variety of interests and hobbies that brought joy to her days, including fishing, doing puzzles, and collecting ceramic frogs and cardinals. Her enjoyment of shopping and her dedication to fostering dogs for animal rescues highlighted her compassionate spirit and vivacious nature.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 59 years, Jim; her son, Jeffery (Christina) Staight; her daughter, Jennifer (Marc) Quinn; her grandchildren, Siearra (Kenny) Kern, Alysa Buchanan, James Staight, Chelsea (Rick Klenke) Buchanan; and her 17 great-grandchildren. Along with them, she leaves behind many other family and friends who will carry her memory in their hearts forever.
Nancy’s legacy of love, laughter, and community spirit will continue to resonate in the lives of all who knew her. She will be profoundly missed but fondly remembered by her family and friends.
