Nancy South

Nancy Lynn South, age 85 of Kettering, passed away Wednesday July 16, 2025, at Traditions of Hilliard, near her daughter. She was born August 18,1939 in Dayton, Ohio, the daughter of the late, Carl and Helen Yenger.

In addition to her parents, she was proceeded in death by the “love of her life”, husband, Winford “Winnie” South; son, Lance Bane; son-in-law, Jim Adams and sister Sherry Honts.

Nancy is survived by her daughter, Lynn (Jim) Hausfeld; daughters-in-law, Tammi (Lance) Bane, Melissa (Clyde) Partin and Sharon (Jim) Adams; brother, Jim (Carol Querner) Yenger and loving sister, Jeanie (Steve) Scheper. Nancy adored her grandchildren, Chris, Andy, Sam, Charlie, Ryan, Tiffany and Mitchell and great grandchildren, Kenzie and Wrenlee. She also was loved by her special nieces and nephews, Jimmy, Lisa, Chad and Trisha.

Nancy & Winnie celebrated 46 years together. Their saying was “a hand to hold as we grow old” suited them well.

As an 82-year resident of Greenmont Village, she loved talking to all the friendly folks walking the circle and watching her birds out the kitchen window.

Nancy will be remembered as being brave, beautiful, humble, sassy, and loved all as God loved her.

Nancy's Funeral Service will take place on Friday, August 8, 2025 at 10:30 am at the Chapel at Valley View Memorial Gardens. She will be laid to rest next to her beloved, Winnie, following the service.
