Nancy Ann Hixson, age 66, of Centerville, Ohio, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family. Born on June 2, 1960, in Dayton, Ohio, Nancy lived a life devoted to the people she loved most.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, Nancy’s life was defined by her unwavering dedication to family. She spent her years putting others before herself, offering comfort, guidance, and support through life’s joys and challenges. Her kindness, strength, and gentle spirit touched everyone who knew her. Whether offering a listening ear, celebrating life’s milestones, or simply being present, Nancy made those around her feel loved and valued.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents Joseph A Lauricella and Catherine M Bent Lauricella; two siblings; and her beloved granddaughter, Breanna Cornish.
She is survived by her loving husband, Steven Hixson; her children, Tonya (Matt) Kirkpatrick, Sarah King, Kimberly (Steve) Wierzba, Joseph King, and Heather Lainhart; as well as her cherished grandchildren, Teddy Fox, Tabitha Cornish, Olivia Cornish, Terry Fox, Teya Fox, Lily Lainhart, and Grayson King. She also leaves behind numerous extended family members and dear friends who will forever treasure her memory.
Nancy graduated from Carroll High School, Class of 1978, and later earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from Urbana University. She retired from Synchrony Consumer Finance in 2022 after a successful career marked by dedication and professionalism.
Outside of work, Nancy found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved tending to her flower gardens, especially her beloved yellow roses, poppies, irises, and allium. Music filled her home and her heart, with favorites including Genesis, Phil Collins, Fleetwood Mac, the Bee Gees, and Luther Vandross. She enjoyed everything from classic films and dramas to game shows, and she always looked forward to sharing the latest stories, recommendations, and conversations with family and friends.
More than anything, Nancy treasured time spent with those she loved. Her family was her greatest accomplishment and her greatest source of pride. The lessons she taught through her example—love deeply, give generously, and cherish every moment—will continue to guide those who were fortunate enough to know her.
Though her absence leaves an immeasurable void, the memories she created, the laughter she shared, and the love she gave so freely will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
