Nancy Carol Heffernan, age 66, of Bellbrook, OH passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on April 24, 2024. Nancy was born in Detroit, Michigan on October 5, 1957 to Albert and Ellen Abdou.
Nancy is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Tom Heffernan; her children: Ryan (Holly) Heffernan, Jackie (John) Davis, and Paul Heffernan; her grandson Graham Davis; and her siblings: Mary Ellen (Chuck) Schotthoefer, Barb (Dave, since passed) Kenerson, Sue (Bill) Toth, Caryn (Paul) Fallert, Al Abdou, and Paul Abdou, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Nancy was a deeply devoted wife and mother who loved her family and those around her selflessly. With a gift for hospitality, she spent much of her adult life caring for and serving others. This included home schooling her three children and hosting countless gatherings, parties, fellowships, and Bible studies both in her home and at the church she was always an integral part of. She was beloved by many and always went out of her way to make those she served feel welcome and included. Nancy was a kind-hearted woman who not only spent her life serving her family, friends, and those who needed help, but as a faithful follower of Jesus Christ she also served at her church in a variety of ministries for many years.
A celebration of life in Nancy's honor will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 3 at First Baptist Church Kettering (3939 Swigart Rd., Dayton, OH 45440). Pastor Steve Bice of Sovereign Grace Dayton Church will be officiating. The family will be welcoming all visitors from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m, immediately before the service and will host a time of food and fellowship for all at the church immediately after the service to allow ample opportunity to honor Nancy as well as reconnect with family and old friends.
