Nancy Gudorf, a beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 15, 2026, in Vandalia, Ohio. Born on June 5, 1957, in Dayton, Ohio, Nancy lived a life marked by devotion, warmth, and an enduring sense of humor.
A graduate of Meadowdale High School in 1975, Nancy went on to dedicate 28 years of her career to GE Aviation, where she earned the affectionate nickname “Sarge.” Her commitment and work ethic were as admirable as her spirit, leaving a lasting impact on colleagues and friends alike.
Nancy’s happiest moments were rooted firmly in family. She took immense pride in her roles as a wife and mother, declaring her husband of 50 years, Henry Gudorf, her steadfast partner; her son, Gabriel Gudorf, her joy; and the shared love for their pets her daily comfort. Though she suffered the profound losses of her son Michael Gudorf, parents Marcus and Florence Etter, sister Linda Stephens, nephew Bill Larson, niece Amy Larson, and in-laws Raymond and Elizabeth Gudorf, Nancy's life was enriched by the ongoing presence of her surviving family who cherished and cared for her deeply.
Nancy’s sisters Shirley (Phil) Young and Donna Parisi, alongside her nephew Douglas Aaron (Erin) Young, numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; and a wide circle of great nieces, nephews, family, and friends, remain connected by the strong bonds she nurtured so lovingly over the years.
Beyond her devotion to family, Nancy embraced a range of passions that brightened her days. An avid Dayton Dragons fan, she never missed a game with her season tickets in hand. Her love for ceramics, shared with her mother in her younger years, revealed a creative spirit, while her enthusiasm for camping and boating with her family spoke to her love of the outdoors. Nancy had a special talent for holiday decorating-Halloween especially-transforming every gathering into a festive celebration filled with joy and laughter.
Above all, Nancy was remembered for her warmth, humor, and kindness. She was a pillar of love and laughter whose memory will forever be treasured by those who had the privilege to know her.
Nancy Gudorf's legacy is one of steadfast love and joyful memories-a life well-lived and deeply felt. Her family and friends honor her memory by carrying forward the values she held dear and by remembering the light she brought into their lives.
