Nemanich, Nancie Jeanne (nee Bashor), of Trotwood, Ohio was born January 7, 1935 and died August 24, 2025. She leaves behind a sister, Karen I. (nee Bashor) and brother-in-law Robert Davis and family of Tipp City and many nieces, nephews, and cousins throughout the United States.
Nancie was born in Dayton, Ohio and attended Trotwood Madison High School. Nancie modeled for many Dayton-area retailers including The Rike-Kumler Company and won the title of Miss U.S. Air Force in 1954. Nancie married Joe Nemanich in 1955. In his spare time, Joe had become quite accomplished in competitive roller skating and with Nancie right beside him. Joe and Nancie both turned to professional roller skating and began teaching. Together the two purchased and operated Skyborn Skateland skating rink in Fairborn, Ohio (1962-2002) and Lind Arena in Zanesville, Ohio. Later in life, Nancie and Joe enjoyed travel either by their “Idle Hour” houseboat on the Muskingum River all the way south to dock in Mississippi or by RV around the country and Canada.
Nancie is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Joe Nemanich, and parents Walter and Irene Bashor.
The funeral service will begin at 10:00am at Newcomer North Chapel on Thursday, September 4, 2025, officiated by William Howell of Christian Life Center. A visitation will be prior from 9:00am to 10:00am. Interment will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Trotwood.
