Nabagereka L. Rogers "GiGi," of Dayton, Ohio, passed away in Dayton on October 16, 2026, at the age of 70. She was born in Dayton on August 16, 1956, and remained a woman whose life reflected warmth, strength, beauty, and deep devotion to others.

For many years, Naba was an educator, and she adored teaching her children. That love of guiding and nurturing others was woven through her life. She helped everybody, especially children who needed help, and she was known as someone who loved everybody and always put others before herself. Family-oriented and full of spirit, she was also very feisty, carrying herself with a lively presence that left a lasting impression on those around her. She loved life, and she embraced it with generosity, energy, and heart.

She found joy in the simple and beautiful pleasures of everyday living. She loved to garden and to cook, creating comfort and care through the things she made with her hands. She also loved listening to music, especially dancing, and brought a sense of celebration wherever she went. A true fashionista, she always looked beautiful, expressing her vibrant personality with grace and style.

What Naba loved most was her family, especially her children, who were at the center of her heart. She is survived by her daughter, Keshia Thomas; her son, Ahmad Rogers; and her daughter, Egypt Rogers. She also leaves behind a cherished circle of grandchildren: Angelo Champion, Jr., Ahmad Rogers, Jr., Emon Rogers, KeShae Howard, Armani Rogers, CheNae McElrath, Mekhi Rogers, Amiyah Rogers, Ayden Wilson, Memphis Barksdale, and Sahalie Rogers. Her legacy continues as well in her great-grandchildren, Avieon Jr., Emon Jr., AuZora, and A'Ceyon; as well as numerous extended family members and friends who hold her memory close to their hearts.

She is also survived by her sisters, Shari L. Rogers, Verlana, Shaundallah, and Kelly, and by her brothers, Hassan, John, Raheem, Doni, and William. In all of these relationships, Naba’s love, guidance, and unmistakable presence formed bonds that will be treasured always.

She was preceded in death by her father, John Rogers; her mother, Charlotte (Reeves) Rogers; her brother, John E. Rogers, Jr.; and her sisters, Princess M. Rogers and Tracy Rogers.

Services are currently pending and will be announced shortly. Burial will follow at Shiloh Park Cemetery.

Naba will be remembered as a woman of God, compassion, style, strength, and boundless love for family. In the lives she touched, in the children she cared for, and in the family she cherished so deeply, her memory will continue to live with beauty and enduring affection.
