Myrtle Lorine Jackson, age 84, passed away August 4, 2020, at 10:25am, with her family by her side. Myrtle was born in Tuckerman, Arkansas on June 13, 1936, the daughter of the late Audra and Junie Garner. One of eight children, Lorine as a young child, and through her teenage years, worked as a laborer in the cotton fields of Arkansas. Lorine then moved to Illinois to pursue a better job with hopes of one day starting a family of her own. She found waitressing enjoyable and continued to do so for many years. Later she would find opportunities in a pecan factory and a shoe factory.
She was a humble, outgoing, loving, and caring person with a heart of gold. She was always there to help anyone at any time. Lorine was a gifted, self-taught musician and song writer who loved playing her guitar and singing songs she had written over the years. She also taught her brothers and sisters how to sing and play guitar. She loved gardening, quilting, horse racing, crafts, and playing poker with family and friends. She also enjoyed flea markets, thrift stores and talking for hours with friends and relatives.
Her life revolved around her children, and after years of raising her children as a truly devoted, and loving single mother, she retired to Ohio where she reconnected and married one of her childhood friends, Earl Jackson.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Junie (Hennessee) (Garner) Householder; her father, Audra Garner; husband, Earl Jackson; sons, Ricky J. Dukes, Johnny R. Dukes and Bruce E. Dukes; granddaughter, Pilar Dukes; brothers, Paul Garner, Evan (Sonny) Garner, Bill Garner and Roy Garner; and sister, Freda (Garner) Boyer.
Survivors include her son, Harold Vincent III (Shelby Vincent); daughter, Stacey Vincent; sisters, Nina Householder and Glenda Moore; grandchildren, Ricky Dukes, Jr., Shyanne Dukes, Lori Dukes, Tonya Dukes, Johnny Reb Dukes, Jr., James Dukes, Megan Dukes, Bruce E. Dukes, II (Eddie), Lynn Kamadulski, Harold Vincent IV, Devon Hutchens and Chase Hensley; and many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
