Myrna W. Custenborder, age 88 of Centerville, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 26, 2025. She was born March 2, 1937 in Covington, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Bernard Weichhand and Estelle Smith.
Myrna is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard "Dick" Custenborder and her stepsister Kay Murphy. She is survived by her loving children, Steve (Mary) Custenborder, Kelli (Gregg) Grimes, and Scott Custenborder. She also leaves behind nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren, who were her constant source of pride and joy.
Myrna was beautiful inside and out. She was the light of any party and will be remembered for her laugh. She loved dining with friends and family, especially at the Paragon Supper Club. Myrna was a gambler at heart, playing the stock market and visiting Miami Valley Gaming. She enjoyed winning. Myrna treasured traditions and was the heart that sustained them. Family vacations to Hilton Head Island for 40 years and vacations to Bellair Beach with life long high school friends for 28 years were some of her best memories. Her favorite day of the year was Christmas Eve. She enjoyed the season of giving. She also loved celebrating the Fourth of July and was truly a proud American. Myrna was a best friend to many. Friends and family describe her as a fun, selfless, trustworthy, supportive, generous, loyal, non-judgmental and a loving best friend.
Myrna was a 1955 graduate of Holy Cross High School in Covington, Kentucky, and was elected Prom Queen her senior year. Following high school Myrna graduated from the Central Academy of Commercial Art in Cincinnati. She was very proud of her Kentucky roots.
Myrna will be remembered not only for her unwavering love and dedication to her family, but also for the warmth she brought into the lives of all she encountered. Her gentle heart and nurturing spirit will forever resonate in the memories of those who loved her dearly.
A Mass celebrating Myrna will be held on Monday, November 24, 2025, at 11:00am at Holy Trinity Church in Middletown Ohio (201 Clark Street). Family and friends may visit in the back of church from 10:00 to 11:00am. Interment will follow immediately at Mother of God Cemetery in Fort Wright, KY (3125 Madison Avenue).
