Mildred E. "Millie" Banks

Mildred E. "Millie" Banks, age 88, passed away peacefully on February 28, 2026. Born on May 5, 1937 in Leeco, Kentucky, Millie was the beloved daughter of Willy Robert Smith and Julie Smith (Lamaster). She was one of eight children, growing up alongside four brothers and three sisters in a close-knit family that shaped her strong values and loving spirit.

Millie dedicated many years of her life to hard work and service. She was employed at NCR and later retired from Delco Chassis, where she built lasting friendships.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Wayne Banks; his children, Bob (Penny) Banks and Sherry (Mike) Shields; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren who brought her immense joy.

Her legacy of love, strength and dedication to family will continue through the many lives she has touched. Millie will be remembered for her resilience, her commitment to family, and the warmth she shared with those around her. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in honor of Millie to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

Visitation will be held from 12:00pm-1:00pm on Monday, March 9, 2026 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd, Beavercreek), where funeral services will begin at 1:00pm. 

Millie will be laid to rest at Miami Valley Memory Gardens following the service.
