Mijinja Pearce, born on April 22, 1945, in Tottori Ken, Japan, passed away peacefully on August 2, 2025, in Dayton, Ohio. She lived a remarkable life characterized by her passion for travel and a deep enthusiasm for hobbies that brought her joy, including shopping, sewing, and various crafts. A dedicated jogger, Mijinja embraced a healthy and active lifestyle, inspiring those around her to prioritize their well-being.

Mijinja was the beloved mother of her son, Lance (Lisa) Pearce, and a cherished grandmother to her three grandchildren: Jasmine (Joseph) Glidewell, Jacob Pearce, and Alyssa Pearce. In addition to her immediate family, she is survived by her sister, Junko "Uni" Kim.

She was preceded in death by her father, Eikyu Kaneda, and her mother, Fummie Kaneda, who instilled in her the values of hard work and dedication that guided Mijinja throughout her life; two brothers; and her beloved son, Chad Pearce whom she loved deeply. 

Mijinja Pearce will be remembered for her vivacious spirit, her love for her family, and the indelible mark she left on the lives of those fortunate enough to know her. Her legacy of kindness and active living will continue to inspire her family and friends for years to come.

A graveside service will take place on Monday, August 11, 2025 at 2:00 pm at Woodland Cemetery, Dayton, Ohio.
