Michael Dwight Riley, born on October 20, 1943, peacefully passed away on September 6, 2025. He leaves behind a rich legacy filled with love, strength, and a striking dedication to his family and friends. Michael was a loving father and papaw, touching the lives of many with his caring nature and unwavering support.

Michael proudly served his country in the United States Navy, fostering lasting friendships with his military comrades, connections he cherished throughout his life. His dedication to service never waned, reflecting his deep love for his country.

A man of many passions, Michael found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He relished fishing and boating, often seeking solace by the water. His love for the outdoors extended to hunting and camping, where he embraced the beauty of nature. An avid storyteller, Michael captivated those around him with anecdotes, sharing his experiences with charm and humor.

Music played a significant role in Michael's life. He enjoyed the melodies of country music and had a particular fondness for Taylor Swift. Evenings spent watching the classic television series "Gunsmoke" were a source of comfort and nostalgia for him.

Above all, Michael was a devoted family man. He is survived by his beloved children: Michelle, Melissa (David), April (Russ), Michael, Greg, Jeff, and Leslie. His legacy continues through his grandchildren: Richie, Rachael, Kali, Brandi, Max, Skyler, and Ryan (Jen), and great-grandchildren: Jayce, Makenzie, Kassie, and Bentley. He is also remembered fondly by his siblings, Tom (Susan), Juanita, and Glen (Debbie), his former spouse, Shirleen, and his nieces and nephews, Katy (Matt), Sam, John (Sheena), Anna (Steve), Nick (Monique), and Shelly (Dustin). His loving catz added warmth to his home, bringing companionship and joy.

Michael faced life's challenges with remarkable resilience, proudly celebrating his sobriety and actively participating in AA meetings. This accomplishment reflected his determination and commitment to personal growth, serving as an inspiration to those around him.

He is predeceased by his parents, William and Margaret Riley, step-sons Kenneth and David, and nieces and nephews Danny, Margaret, and Geneva. Also remembered are the mother of Michelle, Margie, whose impact on his life remains cherished.

As we remember Michael Dwight Riley, we celebrate a man whose charm, love for family, and commitment to faith will continue to resonate in the hearts of his loved ones. His spirit will forever live on in the memories he helped create and the lives he touched so dearly.
