Michael Kahler

Michael Lee Kahler, age 74, of Dayton, Ohio, passed away at his home on Sunday, September 27, 2026. He was born on January 14, 1952, in Dayton, Ohio.

Michael was preceded in death by his mother, Lorene Kahler; his father, William Kahler; and his sister, Kathy Kahler-Wilder.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Carman Kahler; his loving daughter, Michelle Kahler and her mother, Sherry Kahler; stepchildren, Mitchell (Angela) Lambert and Valerie Lambert; and his cherished bonus grandchildren, Anthony (Marcell) Whittaker, Marcus (McKenna) Whittaker, Dalton Whittaker, Clayton Lambert, Andrew Lambert, and Corey Lambert (Ashley Bettem); mother-in-law, Janet Whitaker; sisters-in-law, Laura Pepper and Kelley Fitzwater; and his buddy, Ollie. He is also survived by his brothers, Charles (Maria) Kahler and Gary (Christine) Kahler, along with numerous extended family members and dear friends.

Michael graduated from Fairborn High School and later attended Wright State University. He was a devoted sports fan who passionately followed the Cincinnati Reds and Cincinnati Bengals. Some of his most treasured memories were attending Reds games with his daughter, Michelle, on Father's Day. He also enjoyed participating in fantasy sports and sharing his enthusiasm for the games he loved with family and friends. An accomplished and avid bowler, Michael dedicated many years to the sport and earned recognition for his achievements with induction into the Greater Dayton Bowling Hall of Fame. Bowling brought him not only success but also lasting friendships and countless enjoyable memories.

Michael will be remembered for his love of family, his loyalty to friends, his passion for sports, and the joy he brought to those who knew him. His presence will be deeply missed and forever cherished by all who loved him.
