Michael Charles Boorom

February 18, 1948 — September 27, 2020

Michael (Mike) Charles Boorom passed away on Sunday September 27th at the age of 72, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on Feb 18, 1948 in Providence R.I. to the late Frank and Ruth Marie (Vallee) Boorom.

Mike was a proud Army veteran who served his country in the Vietnam war. On February 9, 1974, he married Sheila Binion and raised three children. To support his family, Mike spent almost 30 years driving trucks for various companies across the country. Mike was an incredibly hard worker, and excited about the work he did as it was a constant source for the stories about his travels. Despite having to be away from home for his job, Mike never faltered in always being there for his family.

Mike is survived by his wife and best friend of 46 years Sheila Boorom. His children Jill Gibson, Sara (Kirk) Paisley, Nathan (Mandy) Boorom and his brown daughter Christelle D'Or. Grandchildren Brandy, Spencer, Mason, Makailah, Isobel, Mira, Harris and Zurie. He is also survived by his sisters, Carol Garrity and Kathy (Roy) Hale and brothers John (Chris) and Charles (Karen) Boorom.

Mike was a loving husband, Dad, Papa, and Grampy. He lived his life with a kind heart, compassionate spirit, and love for the Lord - evident through his favorite bible verse, John 3:16. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, and playing with his grandchildren. Mike was a selfless individual who thought of others first and put himself last. He was a sweet and caring soul who constantly took the time to appreciate the little joys in life. He always found a way to bring happiness to those around him, and those moments with him will be cherished until we see him again in heaven.

The family would like to personally thank the following for their loving support over the last couple of months: The staff at the Dayton VA Medical Center; and the Miami Valley HVICU Staff, Respiratory Department, and Dr. Steven Chambers.

A military service and burial will be held at 12:30 p.m. Friday, October 2, 2020 at the Dayton National Cemetery. The family has asked in lieu of flowers that you help support the Fisher House in Dayton, Ohio by making a donation in his name. The Fisher House provides much needed services to families while at the Dayton VA Medical Center.
