Michael Anthony Miller "Mikie" age 38 of Franklin Twp., passed away October 20, 2015. He was born September 26, 1977 in Kettering to Les and Brenda Miller, who both survive. Mikie was preceded in death by his grandparents: Carlos Deskins, Lester Owen Miller and Mary Ann Miller; and uncle, Richard Paul Miller.
In addition to his parents, Mikie is survived by his grandma, Carol Deskins; brother and sister-in-law: Justin and Leslie Miller; nieces and nephews: Lacie (Derek) Victor, Sydney Haskins, Evan Miller and Emily Miller; aunts and uncles: Sally (John) Schneider, Joseph Lee Miller, Linda S. Smiley, Judy (Rick) Hurt and Don (Jan) Deskins; numerous cousins, other relatives and friends.
Mikie graduated from Warren County Career Center, and then attended Lincoln Tech Automotive Institute in Indiana. Mikie started driving race cars when he was 16 years old. He loved Chevrolet Camaro's. He designed and fabricated numerous race cars with "The Miller's." He raced the Hooters Cup and The Frank Kimmel Racing Series, won several prominent races throughout Indiana (Winchester / Salem Speedways), Ohio (Kil-Kare / Shadybowl Speedways) and Kentucky (The Kentucky Speedway) and was employed by numerous race teams. Mikie was an accomplished engineer and designer and took great pride in his work.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, October 31, 2015 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3940 Kettering Blvd., where the family will receive friends from 9:00-10:30 am. Burial to follow at Miami Valley Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Mikie's memory to the Mary Queen of Peace House.
