Merle Keeton

Merle Keeton, a dedicated painter and beloved member of his community, passed away peacefully on June 15, 2026. Born on November 18, 1954, in Kentucky, Merle lived a life marked by hard work, reliability, and a warm, loving spirit that touched the lives of many.

Throughout his years as a painter, Merle built a reputation not only for his skill and craftsmanship but also for his steadfast commitment and dependable nature. Colleagues and clients alike admired him for his professionalism and the genuine pleasure he took in his work. Beyond his career, Merle was known for being a joy to be around, blending his strong work ethic with a fun and approachable personality.

Merle's love of the outdoors was a defining aspect of his life. He found great satisfaction in working in his yard, where he connected with nature and embraced the tranquility of open spaces. Another cherished pastime was shopping at Trader’s World, a place where he enjoyed exploring and selecting unique items, reflecting his appreciation for everyday pleasures and community engagement.

Merle is survived by his life partner, Shirley Warren, whose companionship was a source of comfort and happiness. He also leaves behind his son, Merle Jason Keeton, and one sister. His loyal and beloved dog, Piper, shared many moments of joy and companionship with him. Additionally, Merle is remembered affectionately by other family members and a wide circle of friends who appreciated his loving and dependable nature.

He was preceded in death by his father, his mother, Carrie Keeton, and his brothers, Donnie Keeton and Jimmie Keeton.

Merle’s legacy is defined by his hard work, loving nature, and the joy he brought into the lives of those around him. His memory will remain cherished by all who knew him.
