Melvin D. Castle

Melvin D. Castle, age 89, of Xenia, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on July 7, 2026. Melvin was born in Ottertail County, Minnesota on January 27, 1937 to the late Dorsey and Myrtle Castle.

Melvin was preceded in death by his parents and wife of 54 years, Esther Castle.

He is survived by daughter, Debbie (David) Rohrback; son, Eric (Chrissy) Castle; as well as his grandchildren, Amanda Rohrback, Austin (Regan) Rohrback, Madison (Kyle) McCleary and Tyler (Hannah) Castle.

Melvin retired from WPAFB after many years as a civilian. He sold real estate for over 20 years. Melvin is also a United States Air Force Veteran.

He was a member of the FOE Eagles in Xenia for many years. Melvin was also in the pool league, which he took great pride in.

In his free time, he enjoyed attending and participating in car shows and enjoying coffee time at McDonald's with his friends. Melvin was sweet and well-liked by the community.

A  gathering will be held from 5:00pm-7:00pm on Monday, July 13, 2026 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd, Beavercreek).
