Melissa Janay Francis

Melissa Janay Francis, age 44, passed away on March 4, 2024. She was born in Dayton,Ohio on May 13, 1979 to Mark and Jayme Francis.

In a world with so much darkness, Melissa brought light with her smile, contagious laugh, love and witty humor. We can smile and find laughter. On sunny days, car rides with loud music and the sound of her beautiful voice singing, we can find peace in her memory. In a defenseless world she would defend anyone. Melissa, or as some of us call her "Lissy" or "Smiley" was the ultimate caretaker. She was our Mother, Daughter, Sister, Cousin, friend, our closest person. Her smile and our memories is what will carry us all through our days.

She will live through her father, Mark Francis; brother, Justin Francis; sister in law, Audrey; nephew, Conner; her cousins, Shainia, Robby, Erik, Mehgan and Ethan. Joshua, Lorraine, and JJ; her long time companion, Larry and his children, Tim, Danielle and Justin; her grandchildren, Hunter and Justin; as well as multiple friends and family friends. She was welcomed home by her mother, Jayme Francis; grandmothers, Polly and Ozelle; aunt Ruthie and uncle Donnie; as well as all the other ones loved by her with her now.

Those of you who would love to celebrate Melissa's life are welcome to join us at one of her favorite places to make memories and have fun. We will be having a Celebration of Life on March 20th, 2024 from 4pm to 8pm at the Santa Fe Lounge, 3991 Dayton Xenia Rd, Dayton, OH 45432. Let us all come together, share memories we will cherish and celebrate Melissa's life. Melissa would love if everyone would wear something purple in her memory.
