Melissa L. Finney, 45 of Riverside, Ohio a beloved mother, daughter, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 9, 2025, after a courageous 16-month illness.
Born on July 18, 1979, Melissa’s vibrant spirit and infectious smile touched the lives of everyone around her. One of the great joys of her childhood was at Diabetic Camp. She went on to become a camp counselor and formed life long friendships. She loved cooking , crafting and music.
A proud graduate of the Stebbins High School Class of 1997, Melissa went on to earn her bachelor’s degree from the University of Dayton.
In the following years she embraced the joys of being a Mom to her loving son Milo Oney. Melissa's love for Milo was the foundation of her life. She felt he was her little miracle. The time they spent together, watching movies and building legos were some of her favorite times spent with him.
Later she began working at Elsa's and Amber Rose. Where her humor, mischievous nature and at times goofy demeanor made it a welcoming environment. No one made a better Bad Juan. She was the smartest blonde you ever met.
Melissa was preceded in death by her (Dad) Ron Finney; her sister January Finney; Uncle Ronnie Stiles; grandparents and other family members.
She is survived by her cherished son Milo Oney (Mark Oney), her loving Mom Gina Stiles Finney; her beloved brother Ronney (Heather) and niece Lizzi Finney.
Many Uncles, Aunts, cousins, friends and childhood friends that became family, all whom love her so much.
Melissa's legacy of humor, kindness and love for family and friends will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her, as they cherish the wonderful memories left behind. We will love her always.
A Celebration of Life will follow at a later date. Please message her Mom, Gina if you would like to attend.
