Melissa Ann Calvert, age 48, of Kettering, passed away suddenly on February 13th, 2026. Melissa was born in Las Vegas, Nevada on July 23, 1977 to the late Karen Delaney Calvert Chadwell and Arthur James Calvert.
Melissa was a dedicated and determined individual who approached life with perseverance and heart. From an early age, she demonstrated a strong work ethic and a desire to excel in all she pursued. Growing up, music was an important part of her life; she loved playing the guitar and singing with her siblings, creating memories that remained dear to her throughout the years. She brought that same commitment into adulthood, consistently striving to do her very best in both her personal and professional life. Most recently, she was employed by the Montgomery County Board of Developmental Disabilities Services, where she was honored as Employee of the Quarter in recognition of her outstanding service and dedication.
She was a dedicated member of Be Hope Church in Beavercreek. She served every weekend and during the week in the children’s class, taking care of the children during church services.
In her free time, she loved spending time with family and friends. Whether that be talking about life, kids, or anything under the sun - this is when she thrived and was the happiest. She also loved watching movies and shows, traveling to see new places, and learning new things. She was thoughtful, nurturing, empathetic, gracious, and resilient.
Most of all, Melissa was a devoted and loving mother who centered her life around her children. She poured her heart into raising them, guiding them, supporting them, and celebrating their accomplishments. Her greatest pride and deepest joy were found in Christopher, Ethan, and Emma.
She was preceded in death by her parents. She will be deeply missed by her four siblings, Tiffany, Cristal, Obadiah, and Matthew; her sons, Christopher and Ethan Fletcher; her daughter, Emma Fletcher; and all who were blessed to know and love her.
Visitation will be held from 5:00pm to 7:00pm on Thursday, February 19th, 2026 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3380 Dayton-Xenia Road, Beavercreek, OH 45432). There will be a funeral service held at 10am on Friday, February 20th, 2026 at the funeral home.
