Melissa Ann Bruck

Melissa Bruck, age 61, of Kettering, Ohio, passed away on January 4, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and an unforgettable presence that could brighten even the dullest Tuesday. Born in Cincinnati, Melissa grew up with a heart big enough for everyone she met, and she met everyone, because she never once passed up a good conversation.

Melissa had an infectious personality that lit up every room she walked into. Whether she was offering a warm hug, a sharp-witted comment, or a stubborn opinion she absolutely was not going to change, she made life more colorful for the people lucky enough to know her. She loved deeply, lived fully, and collected friends the way some people collect coffee mugs, effortlessly and with joy.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Doug; her son, Korey; her daughter-in-law, Ashley; and her two grandchildren, Joscelyn and Walsh, who knew her as their beloved “Mimi.”  as well as her sister Susan (Jimmy) Worden and brother Scott (Katie) Steely.  She was also “Mimi” to her nieces and nephews, a title she wore proudly and with great enthusiasm. To all of them, she was a source of comfort, humor, and endless affection.

She was preceded in death by her parents Homer and Edith Steely.

Melissa never met a stranger, and she never left anyone unchanged. Her laughter, her warmth, and her fierce love will continue to echo in the hearts of those she touched. Her family invites all who loved her to remember her not with sadness, but with the joy she brought into the world, the kind she would want everyone to carry forward.

Public visitation will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home (3380 Dayton Xenia Rd.) on Saturday January 17, 2026 at 1:00 pm with funeral service to follow at 3:00 pm.
