Listen to Obituary

Maureen (Mary Irene) Kladitis, born on October 14, 1946, in Campbell, Ohio, passed from this life on August 12, 2026, in Beavercreek, Ohio. She departed peacefully at home, surrounded by her devoted husband and family, enveloped by the same warmth and love that she always extended to those around her.

Maureen’s life was one marked by love, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to her family. As a graduate of Campbell High School in Campbell, Ohio, she carried with her the values instilled in her youth: integrity, kindness, and a deep sense of community.

She embraced, with pride and joy, the “toughest job ever”—that of a full-time homemaker. For Maureen, home was not simply a place, but a sanctuary woven together with her warmth, laughter, and generous spirit. The kitchen was her heart’s domain, where she famously cooked delectable Greek and American dishes for her loved ones. Every meal, every treat, was prepared with devotion and was a tangible expression of her love. Her hands were rarely still—sewing, crocheting, crafting each item with care, and offering her skills as a seamstress to family and friends alike.

Maureen’s Christian faith was a guiding light in her life. She cherished reading the Bible, drawing comfort and inspiration from its pages, and found joy in thoughtful television moments, including her fondness for “The Chosen.” Her days were filled with the small pleasures of babysitting her cherished grandchildren, sharing stories, hugs, and lessons that they will treasure forever.

To her family, Maureen was the embodiment of caring, loving, and hospitality. She was generous not only with her time and talents but with her wisdom and affection, nurturing her children, grandchildren, siblings, and all those fortunate enough to find themselves at her table or in her embrace. Her greatest source of pride was always her family.

She leaves behind her beloved husband, Emmanuel, who was her faithfull partner and friend. Maureen’s legacy continues through her children: Paul Kladitis, Martha Kladitis, Sarah Kladitis, Ruth (Derrick) Petry, Elisabeth (Jeremy) Underwood, and John (Sue) Kladitis. The joy of her heart, her grandchildren, Lydia, Nikos, Phoebe, Eden, Sophia, Theophilos, Angelos, Daphne, Stephanie, Joshua, Abigail, Caleb as well as many great grandchildren and countless precious memories they shared together, will carry Maureen’s warmth into the future.

Maureen is also lovingly remembered by her siblings: Demosthenesn (Jane) Gourlas, Pauline Sylvester, and Evangeline (Ellis) Wells. In mourning her passing, they remember the steadfast presence she brought to their lives.

She was preceded in death by her dear parents, George and Helen Gourlas, her siblings Mike, Sandy, Irene, and Theodosia Gourlas, whose memories are now joined with hers in loving remembrance.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during visitation at Newcomer Funeral Home, Beavercreek, on August 21, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM.
