Mattie Siler, lovingly known as Granny, Nan, or Nanny to her family and Bobbie to her friends, passed away on November 4th, 2026 at the age of 92, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and selflessness.
Born in the mountains of West Virginia, Mattie eventually made her home in Dayton, Ohio, where she built a life centered around family. She was a loving and caring woman who would do anything for anyone. Her home was a place where everyone felt welcome, loved, and cared for. She was the true matriarch of her family, always putting others before herself and making sacrifices to ensure those she loved were taken care of.
Mattie was hardworking, strong-willed, stubborn, and never afraid to speak her mind. Her sass and straightforward nature were part of her charm, making her truly one of a kind. She found joy in spending time with family, tending to her flowers, long shopping trips, being around children, baking during the holidays, and watching her favorite old Western movies.
Above all, Mattie will be remembered for her generous heart and the unconditional love she gave so freely. She taught her family the importance of hard work, sacrifice, and always being there for one another. Her greatest legacy is the family she loved and the generations who will carry her memory forward.
She leaves behind her children, Beverly (Mark), David, and Melissa (Douglas); grandchildren, Megan (Nate), Phil (Carlee), Emily (Jody), Josh (Mandy), Jacob (Ally), and Matthew; and great-grandchildren, Felicity (Cody), Deborah, Daphne, Ryan, Madeline, Emma, Clay, Elijah, and Aidan; and soon to be a great great grandmother.
Mattie was the heart of her family, and while she will be deeply missed, her love will remain in the traditions she created, the memories she left behind, and the family she held together.
Now, she leaves behind a family who will spend the rest of their lives remembering just how much she meant to them.
She will forever be loved and never forgotten.
