With heavy hearts and deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Matthew Larry Anthony Harris, who departed this life far too soon on July 31, 2025, at the age of 32. A beloved son, grandson, nephew, brother, cousin, partner, friend, and most importantly a proud and devoted father. Larry’s presence brought light, strength, and unwavering love to everyone blessed to know him.
Born on March 17, 1993, and a lifelong resident of Dayton, Ohio, Larry lived a life rooted in purpose, passion, and deep connection to those he held dear. He was the embodiment of strength and gentleness- intelligent, creative, open‑minded, compassionate, and always present. He carried a generous and humble spirit, and his warmth had a way of making others feel safe, seen, and supported.
Larry loved staying active and being surrounded by those who mattered most. Whether spending quality time with his sons or offering comfort to a loved one, his devotion and affection never wavered. He was a steady protector, a thoughtful listener, and a constant source of encouragement, qualities that defined him not just as a man, but as a father and a friend.
He is lovingly remembered by his mother Rosemary Bryant, stepfather Eric Armstrong, sister Sapphire Thomas, his only living grand parent Doreatha Bryant, his beloved sons Lelan, Ethan, Elijah, and the loving mother of his children and partner, Deaja Howard. Larry is also survived by a host of amazing family and friends who will forever cherish his memory and carry his legacy forward.
Larry’s life was a testament to resilience, courage, and love. His smile could light up any room, bringing joy and warmth to those around him. Though his time here was brief, the impact he made is eternal. He lives on in the hearts of his children, the laughter of his loved ones, and the many lives he touched simply by being himself.
Family and friends are welcome to gather from 2:00pm to 3:00pm on Wednesday, August 13, 2025 at Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Road, in Dayton, where a Funeral Service will begin at 3:00pm.
