Mary Young

Mary Young, age 91 of Kettering, went home to her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ on Monday, May 19, 2025 at Miami Valley Hospital. She was born November 19, 1933 in Lake Forest, Illinois the daughter of the late Edward and Mary "Beatrice" Theobald.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, George Young and her brother, Edward Theobald II.

Mary is survived by her children, Carol (David) Roberts, Wendy (Larry) Curtis, Lorrie (Guy) Kneebone, Linda (Manny) Gocon and George "Skip" Young, Jr.; grandchildren, Maria (Alex) Curtis Kerford, Benjamin (Kaitlin) Roberts, Phillip (Lissa) Curtis, Rebecca (Matthew) Roberts Overacker, Patrick (Britni) Curtis, Mary Sarah (Brent) Kneebone Rader, Gretchen Kneebone, Elise Roberts, Ronald (Kelly) Curtis, Grace (Jason) Kneebone Whitham, Rebecca (Gunnar) Kneebone Dillon, Emil Gocon, Jonathan Gocon, Rachel Kneebone, Peter Gocon, Lisa Kneebone, Scott Gocon and David Kneebone; 24 great grandchildren with another due in July.

Mary was a huge collector of paper dolls and was an author of books on paper dolls; publishing at least 10 books. She was an avid Chicago Cubs fan. Mary was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed.

Visitation will be Friday, May 30, 2025 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am with a service to follow at 11:00 am at Newcomer Funeral Home (3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, Ohio 45432). Mary will be laid to rest following the service at Miami Corwin Cemetery.
