Kappeler, Mary Helen (Wehner), age 94 of Dayton, passed from this world after a very full life in Dayton, OH.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband Warren Kappeler, Sr., parents, Vincent and Jeanette Wehner; brothers and sister, Vincent, James, Donald, Joseph, and Jeanette.
She grew up attending St. Agnes Parish on Yale Avenue in North Dayton. Mary graduated from Julienne High School and remained close with many of her high school friends all her life. She went on to attend The University of Dayton in the 1940's. She married Warren Kappeler in 1942, who went on to form a partnership with Jerry Westendorf (both of whom graduated from University of Dayton in the Early 1940s) called Kappeler and Westendorf CPA's.
Mary was active in the Dayton Woman's Club, a life member of the Dayton Catholic Women's Club, and a Notre Dame Alumni. She was an active golfer/member at Dayton Country Club, where she participated in her "9 Hole" and "18 Hole" ladies groups and won many awards in her early 80s. She was a boy scout den mother at St. Albert the Great Catholic School and enjoyed playing bridge until just a few months ago. She was also active in bowling leagues with her husband, Warren.
Mary is survived by her sons, Warren (Rolinda) Kappeler, Jr. and Craig (Mary Beth) Kappeler; sister, Carol Willis; brother, Harold Wehner; grandson, Warren Kappeler, III; and many other loving relatives and friends.
She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mary's memory to the charity of you choice. Prayer services will be held at Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at 11am.
