Mary Tuffey

Mary "Clare" Tuffey, age 77 of Beavercreek, OH passed away peacefully on Friday, August 21, 2020 at Soin Medical Center. She was born on November 19, 1942 in Denver, Colorado to Peter and Mary (Lansing) Golden. She married Patrick Tuffey on January 2, 1965 in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Clare is survived by two sons, Patrick (Amanda Davis) Tuffey, Michael (Melissa) Tuffey; two daughters, Katie (Rick Lyons) Sullivan, Bridget (Josh) Hobbs; grandchildren, Megan, Vanessa, Francesca, Nicholas, Ragan, Kelsey (Garrett), Lily, Kaleb, Colton, Lucia, Collette and Abby; great grandchildren, William, Austin, Laith, Rashad and Malik; additional family members, Tricia, Tim, Evan, Connor, Mary and Wyatt; a brother, Paul (Diane) Golden; in laws, Barbara Golden, Mary Ellen (Chuck) Wojtusik, Nancy (Bob) Hiller, Kathy (Bill) McGuire, Eileen (Brendan) Coleman, James (Annette) Tuffey and Maureen Tuffey; and numerous other family and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Patrick; her parents; mother and father in law; two sons, Kevin L. and Sean R. Tuffey; a brother, Peter Golden; brother in law, Kevin Tuffey; and a nephew, Timmy Klein.
Clare was a faithful member of the St. Luke Catholic Parish in Beavercreek. She was active in volunteering with St. Vincent dePaul and the Beavercreek Historical Society. She lived her life selflessly and believed in serving others, actively serving many charities and volunteer organizations. Clare was a constant fixture at her grandchildren's numerous activities and was their biggest fan. She loved her family dearly and will be greatly missed by all.
Clare will live on as the "Chairman of the Board" for the Tuffey family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the St. Vincent dePaul Society or the American Heart Association.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held on Friday, September 25, 2020 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Beavercreek Chapel, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, Ohio 45432. A Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, September 26, 2020 at St. Luke Catholic Church, Beavercreek, OH. She will be laid to rest next to Patrick in Albany, New York at the convenience of the family.
