Mary Ruth Williams, a cherished mother and beloved friend, passed away on February 25, 2026, at the age of 80. She was born on October 24, 1945, in Salyersville, Kentucky, to Earnest and Ella Howard, who undoubtedly played a significant role in shaping her loving spirit and generous nature. Her legacy of compassion and commitment to family and friends will not be forgotten.
Mary was known for her devotion to her faith and her feisty personality that could light up any room. She possessed a quick wit that endeared her to many and was always ready to share a laugh. She enjoyed shopping and found joy in a good meal or feeding anyone who crossed her path. She found great joy in vacationing with her family, creating treasured memories on trips that brought everyone closer together. These shared experiences were among her happiest times and reflected her deep commitment to those she loved. Mary had a deep love for flowers and gardening, which provided her with countless hours of happiness and connection to nature. Most importantly, she cherished the time spent with her family, especially her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren, affectionately known as her “babies,” as well as her faithful companion, her miniature schnauzer, Juno.
She is survived by her children, David Porter, Steven (Dreama) Porter, Brian (Jeff) Olivaras, Lisa Porter (Nick DiMartino), and Tracey Cain (Leo Pereira). Her grandchildren include Colbey Porter, Logan Porter, Jaxson Porter, Aimee Porter, Brittany (Josh) Lemmings, Zachary Esteppe (Haley Secrest), Danielle (David) Santana, Alyssa Jimenez, Gabriel Pereira, Cristian Jimenez, and Blake Pereira. Her great-grandchildren include Conner, Jaxson, Bentley, Sadie, and Noah. Additionally, she is survived by her sister, Edna (Eugene) Howard, and many other family members and friends who will miss her deeply.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Earnest and Ella Howard; her grandson, Steven Michael Porter; her best friend, Leah Parrish; and her beloved dog, Juno.
Mary Ruth Williams leaves behind fond memories and a legacy of love that will resonate in the hearts of all who knew her. Her presence will be profoundly missed, but her spirit will live on in the lives she touched.
