Mary L. Newell, 86, of Dayton, OH passed away April 16, 2017. Mary was born in Jessamine County, Kentucky on February 11, 1931 to Henry and Katie (Hughes) Lewis and she married James M. Newell Sr.
Mary loved to do crafts, made hats and pillows and was a very dapper dresser, who loved her hats. She loved her family dearly and will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her son, James M. Newell, Jr.; a grandson, Quentin H. Graves; two grandaughters, Selena N. Graves and Rhonda Graves; eight great grandchildren; her brother, Alex Hughes; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and her brothers and sisters.
Services will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
