Mary McCray

Mary McCray, born December 10, 1944, in Wellston, Ohio, passed away peacefully on June 16, 2026. A devoted mother and cherished family member, Mary’s life was marked by her unwavering dedication to her children and loved ones.

Mary was a proud graduate of Wellston High School, where she laid the foundation for a life enriched by family and personal passions. She delighted in spending her time working on puzzle books and sewing, pursuits that brought her joy and tranquility throughout her years.

She was the beloved wife of the late Ellis "Bud" McCray, and a loving mother to her sons Bruce McCray and the late Chris McCray. Mary's legacy continues through her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she cherished deeply: Daniel Stronck and his wife Susie; great-grandchildren Lucas, Samuel, and Sophie.

Mary is survived by her son Bruce and his wife Jennifer, along with her brother Johnny Hartley and sister Jeanie Jordan. She was preceded in death by her parents, Luther and Margrit Hartley, and numerous brothers and sisters.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones for visitation on June 24, 2026, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. The services will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home in Beavercreek, Ohio, located at 3380 Dayton Xenia Rd, Beavercreek, OH 45432.

Mary McCray’s life was a testament to love, care, and familial devotion. She will be remembered with great respect and affection by all who knew her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends forever.
