Mary Mbu Eyongherock, born on August 8, 1948, in Cameroon, passed away on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at Miami Valley South Hospital in Centerville, Ohio. A radiant presence in the lives of those who knew her, Mary was known for her infectious smile, unwavering positivity, and vibrant personality that could light up any room.
Mary’s life was characterized by her deep commitment to caring for others; she was a voice for the voiceless and devoted herself to nurturing those around her. Her generous heart ensured that friends and family felt loved and supported during both joyful and challenging times.
Mary had a passion for playing the drums, along with an enthusiastic love for dancing and singing. These hobbies showcased her zest for life, which inspired many.
She is survived by her beloved daughters, Eucharia Eyongerok, Priscilla Eyongherok, Arrey Eyongherok, Joan Eyongherok, and Elizabeth Eyongherok. Additionally, she leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Magdalene Arthur, Carmichael Arthur, Alexandria, Louis, Cyril Takem-Baiyee, Sonia Ashu, MayKayla, and Meelah., all of whom admired her deeply and will carry her memory forward. She is also survived by Andreas Agbor, Mamie Lucy, Mamie Esther, Mamie Mbi, Alex, Theo, in-laws, and a host of others who loved her.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents, Andreas and Frida Agbor; her husband, Simon Eyongherok; her son, Ade Eyongherok; and her brother, Eyong Agbor. She is also preceded in death by Elizabeth Agbor and Hannah Agbor. Their absence is felt profoundly but serves as a poignant reminder of the love that bound them together throughout her life.
Visitation will take place on Saturday, January 3, 2026 from 9:00 am to 10:00 am at Newcomer Centerville Chapel (820 Miamisburg-Centerville Rd., Dayton, OH 45459). Funeral service will begin at 10:00 am. Mary will be laid to rest at Melwood Cemetery in Stone Mountain, Georgia.
Mary’s legacy of love, compassion, and positivity will remain in the hearts of many, ensuring that her spirit continues to shine brightly among those she touched.
