Mary Ann Cottingham

Mary Ann Cottingham, born on April 19, 1943, passed away peacefully on July 22, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering generosity that touched countless lives.

To know Mary Ann was to know kindness. She had a natural gift for bringing joy wherever she went, her innate humor and goofiness lighting up the lives of those around her. Her laughter was infectious, her spirit unbreakable, and her compassion knew no bounds.

Mary Ann’s heart overflowed with selflessness—a giving soul, she never hesitated to extend a helping hand to those in need. Her devotion to volunteerism was a defining aspect of her life. Proudly serving in the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and the American Legion, Mary Ann poured her energy and love into supporting others, forging friendships and community bonds that will long endure.

Above all else, Mary Ann’s family was her world. She was a loving mother, nurturing her children and guiding them with warmth and wisdom. Her care extended to all those who were lucky enough to call her Grandma. Known affectionately as “the Grandma to everyone,” Mary Ann’s home was a haven of comfort, laughter, and acceptance, with open arms ready to embrace both family and friends as her own.

She is survived by her beloved son, John Cottingham; three cherished grandchildren, Crystal Cottingham, Sean Cottingham, and Lesley Bauman; and her adoring great-grandchildren, Braiden, Tucker, Sean Jr., William, Mila, and Henry. Her dear sisters, Rosalie, Gracie, and Luisa, and brothers, Jesse and Reuben, also remember her with loving hearts.

Mary Ann is reunited in peace with her husband, Jerry Cottingham, her son Joseph Cottingham, as well as her siblings Richard, Elsa, and Gloria, who preceded her in death.

Mary Ann Cottingham’s spirit will forever echo in the laughter of her family and the gratitude of her community. Those blessed to have known her will carry her legacy of love and generosity, remembering her always with smiles and fond stories.
