Mary "Gert" Collier

Mary "Gert" Collier, age 84, of Huber Heights, passed away July 28, 2026. She was born November 19, 1941 in Middlesboro, Kentucky to the late Jake and Minnie Mayes. In addition to her parents, Gert was preceded in death by her husband, Ronnie G. Collier, Sr.; son, Michael W. Collier; granddaughter, Brooke Rhein; and brothers and sister: Joe Mayes, Charlie Mayes, Jake Mayes and Doris Bargo.

Gert is survived by her children: Tammy (Paul) DiPuccio, Ronnie (Sandy) Collier Jr., Cindy (Jeff) Whitehouse and Tina (Matt) Rhein; grandchildren: Phillip (Kenny) DiPuccio, Josh (Linda) DiPuccio, Danny (Sam) DiPuccio, Trey (Chelsea) Collier, Jeffrey Whitehouse, Taylor (John) Raby, Ashley Rhein, Michael A. (McKenzie) Collier and Bradley Whitehouse; great-grandchildren: Hayden DiPuccio, Mikayla Raby, Zoey Raby, Presley Collier, Brooklynn Owens, Ellie Raby, Henry Collier, Bennett Collier, Theodore Collier and Jordyn Nattiel; brothers and sister: Carlos Mayes, Judy Smith, Zell Mayes and Gary Mayes; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Gert retired from Chrysler Corporation after many years of service. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Gert stayed at home with her children until their teenage years before going out to work. She loved to shop, iron, do word search puzzles and color.

Visitation will be held from 4:00-6:00 pm on Tuesday, August 4, 2026 at Newcomer Funeral Home, North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton, where the funeral service will begin at 6:00 pm. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, August 5, 2026 at Willow View Cemetery, 2500 Neff Road, Dayton.
