Martha Jeanette Dougherty (Sparks)

February 1, 1968 — July 8, 2025

Martha Jeanette Dougherty (Sparks), a radiant spirit born on February 1, 1968, transcended this worldly realm on July 8, 2025. She remains etched in the hearts of many as a force of nature, brimming with life and laughter. Martha's essence was woven from threads of humor and kindness, effortlessly igniting joy in those fortunate enough to bask in her warmth. Her laughter echoed through the lives she touched, leaving behind a legacy that will forever linger in cherished memories.

Martha reveled in her passions; she wore her love for the Cincinnati Bengals like a badge of pride. A die-hard fan, she never missed a game and donned her custom-made jersey with "Bengal Baby 68" emblazoned across the back, a testament to both her loyalty and her playful spirit. Fishing was another of her favorite pastimes, especially when competing with her cousin against her dad and uncle, trying to catch the biggest fish. Whether engaging in spirited card games or laughing over board games with family and friends, Martha radiated joy and camaraderie. The rhythm and melodies of '80s music was her soundtrack, underscoring her strategic play in life's vibrant tapestry.

Her affection for animals knew no bounds. A devoted rescuer, Martha opened her heart and home to countless cats and dogs, ensuring that each found love, safety, and comfort. Nibbles and Miss Kitty were among those beloved companions who filled her days with purpose and joy.

Martha is survived by her loving husband of 15 years, Robert "Bobby" Dougherty, whose unwavering support and love enriched her life profoundly. Her cherished cousin, Sheila Miracle, remains a steadfast connection to their shared past, while her ride-or-die best friend of 54 years, Penny Ashley (Dianna Sallie), stood as a pillar of strength and laughter throughout their years together. She lovingly embraced her step-daughter, Kelly Dougherty (Leslie), as well as her two adoring grandchildren, Madison and Cameron, whose lives she illuminated with her vibrant spirit and boundless affection.

Martha is reunited in spirit with her parents, Ulysses "Sparky" Sparks and Peggy Sparks, whose nurturing love shaped her kind heart. She finds solace once again with her grandparents, Abraham Miracle and Martha Miracle (Pittman), as well as her aunt and uncle, Brenda Caudill (Miracle) and Lowell Caudill. Though she has departed from this earthly existence, the light of her laughter, warmth, and unyielding spirit will forever echo in the hearts of those who loved her, creating a lasting symphony of remembrance and love.
