Marshall Lee-Christopher "Monkey" McPherson-Lafferty, a brave, spirited young boy, was finally healed on November 7, 2025, at the tender age of five, in Dayton, Ohio. Born on April 17, 2020, Marshall was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege to know him. With his infectious smile and unwavering courage, he captured hearts and inspired those around him with his fighting spirit.
Marshall enjoyed a life filled with adventure and joy. He thrived in the great outdoors, embracing every opportunity to experience nature through camping, fishing, boating, riding his bike, and four-wheeling. His playful heart found delight in every moment spent with family, especially his beloved cousins, making memories that will forever be cherished.
He was not just a lover of adventure; Marshall also had a special affinity for music, enjoying an array of tunes that resonated within him. His love for penguins, his cherished bunny, Cookie, and his cat, Oscar brought an extra layer of joy to his life, creating a vibrant tapestry of interests that defined his short yet impactful existence.
The affection that Marshall had for his family was indescribable, often expressed in his heartfelt phrase, "I love you very mostest," a sentiment that will echo in the hearts of his loved ones forever. He is survived by his devoted parents, Megan McPherson-Lafferty and Zachary Lafferty; loving brother, Myles as well as a loving circle of family including his grandparents, PawPaw John & NaNa Shelley McPherson; aunt and uncle, Samantha "Aunt Mammii" (Larry) Garner and Dallas "Uncle Bub" (Ashley) McPherson; cousins, Peyton, Emmett, Alayna, Landen, Elliott and Everett; great grandmother, Helen "Grayma" McPherson; great great grandmother, Lois "GG" Hicks and many other loving family members and friends.
He was welcomed into heaven with open arms by his great grandfather, Papaw Rick McPherson; great grandmother, Mamaw Pat Conley; great grandfather, Donald Conley; great uncles, Doug Conley and Kevin McPherson.
As we gather to celebrate the remarkable life of Marshall, we find solace in the memories shared and the love he brought into our lives. Visitation will be held on November 14, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 5:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, located at 3380 Dayton Xenia Rd, Beavercreek, OH 45432.
Though he may no longer walk among us, Marshall's spirit remains alive in our hearts, a vivid reminder of the innocence and joy of childhood. He will be dearly missed, living on in the fond memories and stories we share as we honor his beautiful spirit.
