Mark Paulson, age 71 of Dayton, passed away on Tuesday, May 6, 2025 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born October 21, 1953 in Olsztyn, Poland to the late Zdzislaw Duda and Barbara Pawliszyn.
Mark immigrated to the United States from Poland at the age of 12 and carried a love for his Polish heritage throughout his years. He had a strong sense of civic duty, and was a proud member of the 82nd Airborne Division of the Army. Mark dedicated his career to his country, serving at the Pentagon and Wright-Patterson Air Force Base as an Aerospace Engineer.
Some of Mark's happiest times were spent on the water, with family trips to Deer Creek Lake and the beach at Ocean Isle. He loved cheering on his alma mater, the NC State Wolf Pack, as well as the New York Jets. He especially adored babies, and was incredibly proud of his family tree and how it has continued to grow.
Mark is survived by his wife, Margaret; children, Vincent (Jamie) Paulson, Veronica (Tommy) Scherbauer, Rebecca (Kai) Howell, John (Paige) Paulson, Erik Paulson, Mary Paulson, and Emma Paulson; grandchildren, Abby, Charlie, Alex, Matthew, Ellie, Nora, and Declan; and siblings, Maria Orwizc and Andrew Paulson.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2025 from 10:00 am to 10:30 am at Newcomer Centerville Chapel (820 Miamisburg-Centerville Rd., Dayton, OH 45459). Funeral service will begin at 10:30 am. Mark will be laid to rest in Calvary Cemetery with military honors.
