Marjorie A. Abner, age 87, passed away peacefully on October 16, 2025, in Springboro, Ohio. She was born on April 4, 1938, in Dayton, Ohio.
Marjorie devoted many years of her professional life to the City of Dayton, working as a NAO, where she was well-respected and admired for her dedication to her work. Known for her sassy personality, she brought a lively spirit to all her interactions and made a lasting impression on those who knew her.
In her free time, Marjorie found joy and fulfillment through her hobbies. She had a passion for sewing. Music held a special place in her heart; she enjoyed playing the accordion and piano, sharing her love for music with family and friends.
Marjorie is survived by her children, Theresa (George) Watson, Lisa (John) Baque, Mark (Laura) Kuhns, Amy (Peter) Jepsen, John (Tammy) Kuhns, Wendy (Dave) Utz, Kevin Kuhns, Eric Kuhns, and Kristina (Chris) Perry. She was a proud grandmother to 30 grandchildren and was blessed with numerous great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren; sister, Sally Florence; along with many extended family members and friends who will remember her with love.
Marjorie is preceded in death by her parents, John Walter and Martha W. (Thompson) Maginnis; husband, Michael Abner; and children, David and Jennifer Kuhns.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00AM on Thursday, October 23, 2025 at Newcomer Funeral Home, Kettering. Family and friends may visit from 10:00AM until the time of service. Marjorie will be laid to rest with her husband, Michael, at Royal Oaks Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made out to the National Down Syndrome Society in memory Marjorie.
As we mourn the loss of Marjorie, we also celebrate a life well-lived, filled with love, laughter, and compassion. She will be profoundly missed by all who had the honor of knowing her.
