Marion Erna Test

June 25, 1929 — April 5, 2025

Xenia, Ohio

Marion Erna Test, a beloved farmer, devoted wife, and cherished mother, peacefully passed away on April 5, 2025, in Beavercreek, Ohio. Born on June 25, 1929, in Manhattan, NY, Marion's life was a testament to the beauty of love, commitment, and family.

Marion dedicated her life to her family and her career as a farmer’s wife, nurturing not only the land but also the hearts of those around her. With a personality that radiated warmth and joy, she was known for her giving spirit and her ever-present smile. Memories of her ringing out through the countryside were as vivid as the sunsets she cherished, especially for “The Boys,” who would eagerly race home with the distinct sound of a fly swatter banging against the screen door calling them in for supper.

Education played a key role in Marion's formative years. She attended high school in New York, where she undoubtedly cultivated the determination and resilience that would guide her throughout her life. Marion was not only committed to her family but also had a vibrant social life, participating in the Delta Grandmother's Club, the Red Hats of Xenia, and Eastern Star. Additionally, she found joy in cooking and crocheting, an art through which she shared her warmth with others.

Her greatest pride lay in her family; she raised five remarkable children: Sherry (Tim) Donley, Gary (Amy) Test, Don (Linda Pugh) Test, Todd (Sherrie Kahley) Test, and Dale Test. Marion's legacy continues through her grandchildren—Matthew, Corrie, Deana (Darren), Resa (Andy), Dustin (Becky), Amanda (Jared), Jarrett (Whitney), Sidney, and Logan—as well as her great-grandchildren, TJ, Justin, Graysen, Henley, Jensen, Declan, Madison, and Landon. Each one carries a piece of her gentleness and love.

Marion was predeceased by her beloved husband, Jack Ray Test, with whom she shared an incredible 69 years of marriage. She is also reunited in memory with her parents, William and Anna Schmeelk, her sister Harriet Haas, and her daughters-in-law JoAnn Test and Kim Test, all of whom hold a cherished place in her heart and her family’s history.

A memorial gathering to honor Marion’s life will be held on April 19, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Newcomer Funeral Home in Beavercreek, Ohio.

In lieu of flowers please consider a donation in Marion's memory to the Shriner's Children's Hospital in Dayton, Ohio.

Marion’s laughter, kindness, and boundless love will be profoundly missed but will forever resonate in the hearts of all who knew her. Her legacy of family, friendship, and love will continue to inspire those she leaves behind.
