Marilyn K. Emmons, born on July 4, 1942, in Dayton, Ohio, passed away peacefully on August 28, 2025. A beloved figure in her community and cherished family member, Marilyn left an indelible mark on those who had the honor of knowing her.
Marilyn's career at Kroger in Dayton spanned over 35 years, during which she took on various roles, demonstrating her unwavering dedication and adaptability. Her passion for her work and her exceptional leadership qualities were admired by many, making her a treasured part of the Kroger family.
A proud graduate of Colonel White High School, class of 1960, Marilyn carried her educational experience with her throughout life. She was known for her vibrant energy and an unmistakable sense of humor that could light up any room. Friends and family often described her as the "best mom ever," showcasing her commitment to motherhood as one of her proudest accomplishments.
A devout Christian, Marilyn formerly worshipped at Centerville United Methodist Church, where her faith and values were a guiding force in her life. Alongside her spiritual journey, she formed deep connections and friendships that enriched her life and the lives of others.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Michelle Emmons, who carries forth her legacy of strength and humor. Marilyn was also preceded in death by her brother, Eugene Francis Slagle, and her sisters, Marjorie Bagi and Margaret Stwalley. Additionally, she was predeceased by her parents, Eugene and Nellie Slagle.
Marilyn leaves behind a wealth of memories and a legacy of love, laughter, and resilience. She will forever be remembered by those whose lives she touched and influenced.
Marilyn will be laid to rest at Woodland Cemetery in Dayton, Ohio, at the convenience of the family.
