Margie Stamper, a beloved pillar of her family and community, passed away peacefully on February 15, 2026, in Dayton, Ohio. Born in Livingston, Kentucky, on October 7, 1951, Margie was a radiant spirit, known for her sweetness, kindness, and an infectious sense of humor that touched all who crossed her path.
A proud graduate of Northridge High School, class of 1969, Margie's commitment to her alma mater was evident as she often attended reunions, cherishing the friendships that continued to flourish over the decades. Her role as a publisher for Oakwood Life Magazine showcased her talent for storytelling and connecting with others, which was a true reflection of her caring personality.
Margie was not just a mother and wife; she was a confidante, a friend, and a relentless supporter of those around her. Her fantastic memory meant she could recount the most intricate details of everyone's stories, making them feel loved and important. She had an innate ability to bring people together, often lighting up rooms with her wit and charm, never at the expense of others.
Her passion for life was evident in her many hobbies and interests. Margie found joy in arts and crafts, bird watching, and playing games with family and friends. She and Jim, her beloved husband of 56 years, traveled the United States and abroad, creating cherished memories and enjoying adventures that solidified their bond.
Margie’s dedication transcended her personal life, as shown by her contributions to the North Riverdale Lutheran Church Food Pantry, which she led, enhanced, and expanded over the past decade. The pantry has been renamed the Margie Stamper Memorial Food Pantry in her honor. Her devotion to her family and community reflected her belief in giving back, ensuring that others felt the warmth she was so generous in sharing. Service and outreach were among the most important things in a church to Margie.
Margie leaves behind a legacy of love and support through her family: her husband, Jim Stamper; two devoted children, Suzie (Jim) Bannan and Robert (Stephanie) Stamper; a cherished bonus daughter, Lisa Conner(Tim); and grandchildren Amanda Thomas, Brendan Bannan (Heather Morgan), Saraea Mauch (Evan), Shaphan Spurgin, and Sololee Stamper. She also adored her bonus grandchildren, Josh (Blue) Lewis and Kayla Conner. She proudly welcomed six great-grandchildren: Kaine, Anya, Nikolai, Grayson, Byron, Beckett, and Xavier. Margie is survived by her brother, Michael (Tracy) Tomlinson, and her niece, Sara Tomlinson, along with many other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will carry her memory in their hearts.
Margie Stamper will be deeply missed, yet her spirit will forever echo in the laughter and stories of those who loved her. Her life was a tapestry woven with kindness, compassion, and love, creating a beautiful legacy that will inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her.
