Margaret Alice Tschirhart, a cherished pillar of her family and community, passed away on August 8, 2025, in her hometown of Dayton, Ohio. Born on December 2, 1951, Margaret dedicated her life to the nurturing and care of others, with a distinguished career in home healthcare nursing. She was known for her good sense of humor, intelligence, and a deep, abiding love for those around her, qualities that endeared her to everyone she met.
A devoted mother, Margaret found immense joy in her children, Michelle Dearing and Shawn Fraley, whose lives she greatly influenced. She was also the proud grandmother of Carmen (Shane Matthews) Dearing and William Fraley, and took exceptional delight in her role as a great-grandmother to Terrance Matthews and Braxton Matthews. Her connection with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren was a central part of her life; they were, in fact, her pride and joy.
Margaret's warmth and caring nature extended beyond her immediate family, as she welcomed Donna (Kenny) Cook and Kelly (Chris) Redick as honorary children into her heart. She surrounded herself with love and laughter, spending cherished moments with her fiancé, William Brooks, and engaging in lively family gatherings, particularly during holiday celebrations and picnics.
Outside of her professional accomplishments and familial ties, Margaret had a passion for various hobbies and interests. An artist at heart, she enjoyed arts and crafts and found peace in gardening. She loved the great outdoors, often going camping and savoring peaceful walks in parks. Margaret possessed a spirited adventurous side as well, enjoying motorcycle rides and exploring the beauty of the Smokey Mountains. Her affinity for nature extended to her fondness for animals, especially ladybugs and dolphins, which brought her joy and inspiration.
Margaret is survived by her loving fiancé, children, honorary children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her beloved dog, Dolly. She leaves behind her cherished sisters, Betty Voshall, Kathy Yankee, and Trish (Ron) Ford.
She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Madia Voshall, brothers Joe, Phil, Mike, and Mark Voshall, son-in-law, James Dearing along with her beloved dog, Ty Ty.
Margaret’s legacy of love, laughter, and compassion will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who knew her. Her impact on her family and community remains an enduring testament to her remarkable spirit and loving nature.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 14, 2025 from 12:30-2:30pm at the Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Rd, Dayton, OH 45424. The service will follow at 2:30pm with her nephew, Pastor Jeffery Voshall officiating.
