Margaret Dana Parriman

It is with profound sorrow that we announce the loss of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and best friend, Margaret Dana Parriman, 95. Dana was born in Whitley County, Kentucky, on February 17, 1923 to Bailey and Bertie Hamblin. As the oldest of seven children, she was a remarkable help to her parents and siblings. Dana attended Paint Creek School, where she met the love of her life, James "Jim" Parriman. Married on April 17, 1940, Jim and Dana moved to Dayton in 1941; and in 1961, they moved to Waynesville. Jim and Dana were married for sixty-six years until Jim's death in 2006. Dana was a loving, caring person who loved her flower garden, the outdoors, and especially her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Henry and Emma Wilson; her parents, Bailey and Bertie Hamblin; each of her siblings (Doris Garber, Rachel Wolner, Jeanette Lynch, George Hamblin, Glenn Hamblin, and Carl Hamblin); her infant daughter, Dorothy; and her husband, Jim. She is survived by her children, Jo Ann Parks (Larry) and Richard Parriman (Linda); her grandchildren, Brian Parks (Karen), Dianna Petering (Bill), and Ashley Parriman (John Reichard); her great-grandchildren, Kyle and Alyson Petering, and William and Whitman Reichard; and nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Patriot Ridge and Hospice of Dayton. Dana was a good woman (the best), was dearly loved, and will be dearly missed.

"A good woman is hard to find and worth far more than rubies." (Proverbs 31:10).
