Margaret Ellen Miller, a devoted mother, grandmother, and cherished member of her community, passed away peacefully on April 7, 2026, in Dayton, Ohio. Born on December 28, 1939, in Highland Park, Michigan, Margaret’s life demonstrated her dedication, resilience, and a zest for life that touched all who knew her. Margaret graduated from the Patterson Co-op Class of 1958 and went on to attend Southwestern College of Business. She led a significant career first serving as a Montgomery County Court Reporter then as a G5 Administrative Clerk at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base for nearly 24 years, where she contributed to the AC-130 Gunships Program. This role reflected her commitment and diligence in which she was highly respected.

An independent and outgoing woman, Margaret remained young at heart throughout her life. She cherished spending time with her family, especially during vacations, festivals and holiday celebrations, which held a special place in her heart. Her love for gardening, crafts, playing the piano, bowling and water skiing—an activity she enjoyed well into her seventies—highlighted a vibrant and active spirit. Among her many accomplishments, she was most proud of her family, especially her grandchildren.

Margaret is survived by her daughters, Sheila Reynolds and Debbie (Frank) Kraska; her grandchildren, Phillip C. Reynolds, Nathan (Betsy) Reynolds, Austin Reynolds, Morgan (Anthony) Flohr, and Brandon (Alexa) Kraska; and her great-grandchildren, Conner, Josh, Zachary, Sullivan and Josie. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Jimmie Layer, as well as many nieces, nephews, and dear friends who will remember her fondly.

She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Vernon and Freda Gebby; her sisters, Barbara Kuhn and Lois Layer; her son-in-law, Phillip David Reynolds; and several nephews.

Margaret Ellen Miller's life was a testament to strength, love, and joyful engagement with the world around her. She will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate to know her and whose lives she enriched.
