Kolb, Margaret “Marge” Griffiths, 91, of Centerville, died on June 14, 2026. Marge was born on June 7, 1935, to the late Francis “Bud” and Loretta Griffiths and grew up the youngest of four children in Price Hill, Cincinnati. In 1959 she married Al Jung, with whom she had five children. She later married Bill Kolb. She is survived by her children Terry Mills (Ron), Lori James (Albert Gootee), Steve Jung (Donna), and Julie Jung (Rob Isaacs); stepdaughters Nancy Olson (Lee), Deborah Dwyer (Rick), and Laura Giesel (Roger); grandchildren Sara Nelson (Ron), Julie James, Alex James, Gina Rosch (Jonny), Dayton Jung, Claire Mathai (George), Brandon Morris (Alison), and Rosalie Giesel; and great grandchildren Audrey, Austin, Jaxon, Dylan, Bennett, Micah, Louise, William, Annie, Ella, Nora, and Lydia. She is also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 29 years, Albert William (“Bill”) Kolb, Jr.; siblings Jeanne Jaspers, Alice Henkel, and John J. (“Jim”) Griffiths; siblings-in-law James Jaspers, Richard Henkel, and Mary Lou Griffiths; son Mark Jung; and grandchildren William Olson and Carolyn Giesel.
A proud graduate of Cincinnati’s Seton High School, Marge attended the University of Dayton and later Wright State, finishing just a few credits shy of earning her degree. Leading by example, she instilled in her children the values of honesty, inclusivity, and trying one’s best regardless of circumstance. She worked as a teaching assistant at St. Joseph’s Orphanage in Dayton, where she gifted others with her endless patience and warmhearted sense of humor. She was an ever-present source of support in her children’s and grandchildren’s lives, helping with homework, attending sporting events, sharing and listening to stories, and laughing hard in all the right places.
In retirement Marge and Bill traveled throughout the United States and the rest of the world, enjoying natural wonders from the penguins of Chilean Patagonia to the fjords of Sweden. She was a skilled card player who learned to play bridge in college, a hobby she continued throughout her life, earning the distinction of Life Master in 1994. A lifelong fan of the Cincinnati Reds and Esther Price candies, she also enjoyed watching tennis, especially Roger Federer.
Marge was always willing to see the best in others, and her memory serves as a reminder that we are more alike than different and that love begets love.
The family would like to thank Hospice nurses and aides as well as the staff of Pavilion and the Cascade Unit at Bethany Village for their attentive care during Marge’s final years.
